Synopsis

This is the second book in the Elements of Surrender series. Official synopsis coming soon!

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER. Engulfed will release on 11/6/25.

Second book in the series about the enigmatic owners of Elements, a members-only BDSM club where each of the four dungeons embody one element: earth, water, air, or fire.

Chapter One Look Inside

Well, that went even better than expected.

Beckett leaned back in his chair, putting his feet up on his desk, the smile on his face more than a little triumphant.

It had been a gamble, to be sure, forcing Ewan’s hand like that. He’d found the contract in his friend’s desk weeks ago—the one outlining the fake relationship between Ewan and Jo.

The relationship meant to trick Beck and their other friends, Sky and Rhys, into getting off Ewan’s back.

After a disastrous breakup last fall, Ewan fell into a depression spiral that scared the ever-loving shit out of the other three. Especially when he vanished off the face of the planet for six goddamn months, running off to hike the Appalachian Trail without telling anyone about his plans first.

As far as Beck was concerned, worrying about the guy after that stunt was more than reasonable. And yet he bitched and moaned that he was fine (he fucking wasn’t) and that they should leave him alone (not a chance in hell).

Imagine everyone’s surprise when Ewan showed up at Elements, the kink club the four men opened a few years ago, with a new sub. A sub he seemed to be head over heels for.

Beck saw through the bullshit immediately. All three of them did. Even so, he hadn’t expected there to be a literal contract. He’d found it in Ewan’s desk at the club, while searching for a form his business partner had promised to sign that morning.

Seven full pages outlining the details of their fake relationship—and their temporary D/s dynamic. An exceptionally real D/s dynamic. One that made the lines between what was pretend and what wasn’t blur awfully fucking fast.

Yet another thing Beck saw through, long before Ewan or Jo seemed to. And she was fucking perfect for him, unlike Gemma. If he was being completely honest—something Beck seldom bothered to do, even to himself—he’d never much cared for Ewan’s ex. Oh, she was nice, smart, beautiful, etc., etc. She ticked all the right boxes, and he had no doubt the perfect Dom for her was out there somewhere.

It sure as hell wasn’t Ewan, though.

After weeks of strategizing, trying to figure out just the right time and way to nudge them into admitting their feelings for one another, it came to him.

Step one: show the contract to the guys.

Step two: set Rhys loose on the pair.

Step three: sit back and watch the fireworks.

It went off flawlessly.

He felt like he should have a cigar in his mouth while he commented on how much he loved it when a plan came together.

His phone buzzed on the desk, pulling him out of his self-congratulatory haze before it got out of hand. Who knew how long he would’ve sat here basking in his own brilliance without the distraction.

Beck smirked at the thought. He had a bit of a reputation for being on the conceited side—a reputation he felt he’d earned, and didn’t mind in the least. Humbleness had never been his strong suit, particularly since he didn’t see much point to it. Why pretend he was some sort of lesser version of what he actually was?

Letting his feet thump onto the floor, he leaned forward and grabbed his phone. As soon as he looked at the screen, his smirk turned into a genuine smile. He’d been wondering if he’d actually hear from Sage after their run-in at the club a little over a week ago. She’d been all over him inside of Elements, but then crickets ever since.
